Facebook Announces AMBER Alerts, A System To Locate Missing Children

Mark Zuckerberg the CEO of Facebook has just announced in his personal account the official launch of AMBER Alerts, a system that unifies all the power of the social network and the communities on the Internet to speed up the location of missing children.

As indicated: “In recent years, we have seen people use Facebook on their own to help find children who have been abducted.

This inspired our team to build a better tool so that through Facebook we can help reunite families. We have truly committed ourselves to this work.

Facebook isn’t just about sharing the moments in your life – it’s also about helping our community become a force for good in the world.“.

According to ABC News, Facebook makes available the new system to locate missing children. In fact they are working in conjunction with the National Center for Lost and Exploited Children to send AMBER Alerts to its users in special areas where missing children have been reported.

The alert can include a picture of the child, a description of the vehicle, and any other valuable information that the public can use to help find the child.

People will have the ability to share the alerts with their Facebook friends with the aim of extending the search on their network as much as possible.
