Learn How To Make Money Designing Simple Graphics

Graphic designers can make a pretty good living these days.

But you don’t need to go through formal training or be able to create complex designs to make money as a graphic designer.

You can make good money by creating simple graphics for clients who don’t have the time or eyes for it. Depending on how you package your services, you can easily make $ 20 to $ 30 an hour with this service.

If you are a visually creative person with a natural flair for design, this could be the perfect thing for you.

Inexpensive or free graphic design tools

The first thing you might be interested in is what you can use to create these simple graphics. Traditional programs like Photoshop are expensive and not easy to use.

Fortunately, there are several web platforms that are easy to learn and that are either free or relatively inexpensive.

Canva is my top recommendation because it’s free to use. There is a paid “professional” version of Canva with some useful additional features, but you don’t need one to get started.

Canva comes with many free templates that can make your job as a designer a lot easier. You can also upload your own fonts, elements, and images to create anything from business cards to posters.

PicMonkey is significantly more reliable than Canva, but comes with a small monthly fee. This is especially useful for styling text and creating shadows, which are more difficult to do with Canva.

Studying programs

None of these programs are particularly difficult to learn, but can be a little confusing at first. But you can certainly learn any of these programs yourself, and Canva and PicMonkey have tutorials to help you learn the features.

You can also find inexpensive courses on Udemy for Canva or PicMonkey.

Note: While these programs give you access to a wide variety of fonts, photos, pictures and other elements, whether you are allowed to use them or not depends on what you intend to use them for. Be sure to read the license agreement.

Be especially careful with stock photos. While you can find free images on sites like Pixabay and Unsplash, I recommend buying stock photos from Depositphotos to make sure you are licensed to use them.

Examples of simple graphics you can create

Now you know how to create simple graphics, but which one can you create to make money?

Here is a list of some of the most common graphics that businesses and bloggers need.

1. Pinterest Pins

Pinterest is huge right now, with an active user base of over 334 million last year. Many small businesses use this popular platform to drive traffic to their sites and products. But to maintain a stable presence on Pinterest, you need to create Pins.

Lots of pins.

And pin creation is probably the most time-consuming aspect of an effective Pinterest strategy, which means many small businesses and Pinterest managers will happily outsource it to someone.

2. Printed editions

Today, print is in vogue. Checklists, trackers, shopping lists, summary logs – the list of things you can do is endless! Virtual companies love to sell print because there is no need to worry about shipping and there is no inventory in stock.

You can create printables for other small businesses, or even run your own print shop on Etsy.

3. Product graphics

Many bloggers and small businesses have virtual stores to showcase their products, and having stunning product graphics can be critical in getting the browser to buy!

For example, an e-book has no physical form, but many companies create 3D graphics of the book cover to sell it.

4. Digital downloads

Many small businesses and bloggers will create ebooks, tutorials, or other digital offerings that they sell or trade for email subscribers. But a simple PDF file isn’t very impressive and doesn’t look professional.

The cover and a few interesting design elements give it a more sophisticated look and value.

6. Graphics on social networks

Other companies need help to spice up their Facebook and Instagram content with graphics. This can include creating eye-catching graphics with quotes, advertisements, or Facebook page covers to help engage your client’s audience.

Finding clients for your design business

You can specialize in one or two types of graphics, or experiment with different ones. Once you’ve decided what kind of graphics you want to design, you should create a portfolio of graphic samples that you can send to potential clients.

You can offer your services on Fiverr, search for jobs on freelance job boards, or follow opportunities on Facebook or LinkedIn. You can also reach out to social media managers, OBMS or Pinterest and offer them your services.

I’ve always found that the secret to a successful presentation is adapting it to the business you are promoting. This proves that you have done a good job on this particular business and understand what its needs are. Then I would like to add a custom layout for whatever graphics I could create for them.

For additional help in finding clients, I highly recommend Horkey Handbook’s. 30 days or less until the success of the virtual assistantbecause creating simple graphics is one of the many services that virtual machines can offer.

The course will not only help you build a solid foundation for your business, but also subscribe to the VA Leads community on Facebook. This is where the Horkey Handbook publishes all potential clients coming in through their own VA Finder program. (During the subscription period, I received three clients from there.)

Graphic designers have tons of possibilities! What’s more, anyone with a creative mind looking to learn can make money from graphic design.

It works well both as a basic service offering and as a complement to other services you might want to offer. Or, you can use graphic design as a way to open an online store.

So go ahead and turn on your creativity!
